Meet the Talent

Born on November 26, 1986, in Mayagüez and raised in Isabela, Amaez developed a deep love for cooking at an early age. His passion for bold, flavorful cuisine runs in his blood—passed down from his grandmother and mother, who first inspired his connection to the culinary arts.

After graduating from Dr. Heriberto Domenech High School in Isabela, he chose to formalize his path by studying at the Escuela Hotelera de San Juan and the Instituto de Banca's Culinary Arts program. Throughout his career, he has explored a wide range of experiences across the food industry, from catering operations and food trucks to cafés, traditional Puerto Rican kitchens, international restaurants, and hotel environments.

His versatility and commitment to the craft eventually led him to the classroom, where he served as a Culinary Arts instructor, helping shape and mentor the next generation of cooks. This experience reflects not only his technical skill, but also his dedication to sharing knowledge and elevating the industry.

Today, Amaez serves as Chef de Cuisine at AQA, where he continues to evolve his style and bring his culinary vision to life. His cooking is rooted in tradition, elevated by technique, and driven by a passion for creating memorable dining experiences that celebrate flavor, culture, and creativity.
